Beginning to Review, Revise, and Revisit

I am beginning the slow and deliberate process of updating and refining the website after having neglected it for the last few years. The demands of teaching and writing the last three years have knocked me off course, but things are settling into place and it is now time to circle back around and clean the place (this site) up and put it to greater use.
So if you come on the site and find it looking a little less than it could be in the coming months, bear with me while I work through the process of revising and refining the site.

Simplify. Simplify. Simplify.

If I am to write–for you, for myself, for others–I must begin over, stripping this site down to its bones so that it requires nothing more of me than the time it takes to write. The previous web design, which I spent months working through with a designer, feels like a giant garden, something you would find at Versaille, something that needs a team not a teacher who just wants to write and share what works with his fellow teachers. So from now on: a lean and clean minimalist design where, I hope, the wealth is in the words, not the way the site looks–though, of course, I want it to please the eye as much as the mind.
